New ‘Heads of State’ stills with John Cena, Idris Elba, Priyanka Chopra, Jack Quaid released
Prime Video is gearing up to unleash “Heads of State” globally on July 2 — a riotous action-comedy that reunites US President Will Derringer (John Cena) and UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba), who have a very public rivalry that jeopardizes the special relationship their countries have with each other.
When a ruthless global conspiracy breaches both leaders’ security, these two powerhouses are forced into an uneasy alliance.
Add in Priyanka Chopra as MI6 agent Noel Bisset, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, Richard Coyle and Paddy Considine, and you’ve got an all-star ensemble ready to ignite every scene with wit and gunfire.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller (“Hardcore Henry;” “Nobody”) and scripted by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Harrison Query, “Heads of State” blends breakneck stunts with razor-sharp banter — nostalgic 90s buddy-action flair mashed up with modern gadgets and globe-trotting stakes.
Producers Peter Safran and John Rickard keep the action razor-crisp, while executive producers (including Cena and Elba themselves) ensure that the humor never takes a backseat to the carnage.
