Trailer for feel-good apocalyptic comedy ‘How It Ends’ released
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) has released the official trailer, poster and eight new images for feel-good apocalyptic comedy “How It Ends.” The movie premiering on digital and releasing in select theaters in the US on July 20 is the production of cowriter-codirector-coproducer-actress Zoe Lister-Jones’s company, Mister Lister Films.
Besides Lister-Jones, the movie’s cast includes Olivia Wilde, Cailee Spaeny, Fred Armisen, Charlie Day, Whitney Cummings, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, Helen Hunt, Lamorne Morris, Colin Hanks, Bradley Whitford, Tawny Newsome, Logan Marshall Green, Finn Wolfhard, Pauly Shore, Bobby Lee, Ayo Edebiri, Glenn Howerton, Sharon Van Etten, Raymond Cham Jr., Paul W. Downs, Angelique Cabral, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel.
“How It Ends” is cowritten, codirected and coproduced by Daryl Wein, Lister-Jones’s real-life partner and co-founder of their production company.
MGM’s US motion picture production label and subsidiary, American International Pictures, acquired the movie’s world distribution rights last month.

The movie’s official synopsis reveals a bit about the story, saying, “In this feel good apocalyptic comedy, freewheeling Liza (Zoe Lister-Jones) scores an invite to one last wild party before the world ends. But making it there won’t be easy, after her car is stolen, and the clock is ticking on her plan to tie up loose ends with friends and family. Accompanied by her younger self (Cailee Spaeny), Liza embarks on a hilarious journey across Los Angeles, running into an eclectic cast of characters.”

Lister-Jones co-starred in the 2015-2019 CBS sitcom “Life in Pieces.” She is also known for her work on the television shows “Whitney,” “Delocated” and “New Girl.” In 2017, she made her directorial debut with her indie film, “Band Aid,” and won the Audience Choice Award at the Crested Butte Film Festival and the Best Narrative Feature – Honourable Mention Jury Award at the Calgary Underground Film Festival for the first film as director.
