John Rich to host show on FOX Nation
On-demand direct-to-consumer streaming service FOX Nation has announced that country music star John Rich will be hosting one of its new programs next year.
John Finley, the executive vice president of development for the service, made the announcement on Thursday.
The show, called “The Pursuit! With John Rich,” will be launched in February 2020. It will be filmed from Rich’s home in Nashville, Tennessee, with his signature star guests and personal friends, who will examine their journeys to the American dream.
Rich stated on the occasion, “Joining FOX Nation is a new and exciting venture that I am looking forward to pursuing.”
Finley said, “John has been an asset to FOX News throughout the year, helping us raise money for Folds of Honor through the hit single Shut Up About Politics and his role in the recent FOX Nation Patriot Awards.”
He added, “We are overjoyed to have him join our platform and bring our subscribers a new realm of entertainment we know they will enjoy.”
FOX Nation’s inaugural Patriot Awards in St. Petersburg, Florida, recently raised funds for Folds of Honor, a non-profit that offers scholarships to spouses and children of disabled and fallen service members. During the event, Rich autographed bottles of his Redneck Riviera whiskey, with all earnings going to the non-profit.
He worked with the host of FOX News Channel panel talk show “The Five,” Greg Gutfeld, to co-create the hit single “Shut Up About Politics,” with the show’s cast joining him in Nashville to produce the song. “Shut Up” debuted at number 23 on iTunes and climbed up to number two in the world, reaching number one on Billboard’s country sales chart. Soon after the debut, that is a few months, the single raised more than $50,000 for Folds of Honor.
The country music singer-songwriter is well known for his work as one half of the multi-platinum super duo Big & Rich. Redneck Riviera, his personal brand, encompasses jerky and apparel in addition to his signature whiskey.
“Through my program, I hope to further connect with the FOX News family and continue to create meaningful content,” Rich said.
