Marvel Studios releases final ‘Black Widow’ trailer, latest theatrical poster

Marvel Studios has released the final trailer and latest theatrical poster for its much-awaited upcoming action-packed spy thriller superhero movie “Black Widow.”

Starring Scarlett Johansson in the lead role, “Black Widow” hits theaters May 1st, less than two months from now.

In the trailer, Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh) offers viewers as well as Natasha Romanoff (played by Johansson) more insight into Red Room controller Taskmaster.

Although it is not yet known who plays the mysterious Taskmaster in the movie, it was reported in August last year that Dutch bodybuilder-model-actor Olivier Richters, the tallest bodybuilder in the world, had been cast in an undisclosed role.

In the story, Red Room is a program that turns young women into the most elite assassins.

In the trailer, Yelena says that women in the program are manipulated and that although they are fully conscious, they have no choices.

Natasha hints that before the Avengers, she had made mistakes and a few enemies during her time at the Red Room. She also expresses remorse and says that she should have come back for Yelena.

To take the Taskmaster down, they must return to where it all started, uniting the family again. With Alexei Shostakov (played by David Harbour) and Melina Vostokoff (played by Rachel Weisz), their parental figures, Natasha and Yelena have a chance to save other young women from the Taskmaster.

“Black Widow” is the 24th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first one in Phase Four. It is written by Eric Pearson from a story by Ned Benson and Jac Schaeffer. The film is directed by Cate Shortland.

Set following the events of “Captain America: Civil War” (2016), the movie sees Natasha on the run and forced to confront darker parts of her past.
