Netflix debuts trailer for Jerry Seinfeld special, confirms Hend Sabry series

Leading streaming entertainment service Netflix has debuted the official trailer for “Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill,” the first original special of comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld since 1998. The streaming service also confirmed a new Arabic original series starring one of the Arab world’s most iconic actresses, Hend Sabry.

Seinfeld Special

Seinfeld’s new hour-long special will premiere globally on May 5. The show strengthens his reputation as the precision-craftsman of standup comedy, says Netflix.

Featuring Seinfeld’s entry to the Beacon Theatre in New York City, the special presents the Golden Globe-winning actor’s sharp angles on daily life and uncovers humor in the ordinary.

The topics the iconic star of “SeinFeld” and “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” tackles include the magic of Pop Tarts, bad buffets vs. so-called “great” restaurants, talking vs. texting.

Sabry Series

Netflix’s heartwarming Arabic drama-comedy series, an untitled project as yet, will also feature Sabry for the first time as an executive producer by her company SALAM Production. The new series is expected to be filmed in Egypt, with the production likely starting in fall 2020.

“We are excited to work with Hend Sabry, one of the Arab world’s most iconic actresses, who won the hearts of Arab audiences throughout her career, ” commented Netflix Arabic Original Series director Said Ahmed Sharkawi. “Hend’s new show is a female-focused story that we are sure fans will connect with.”

Sabry stated, “I am excited to work on a female-focused show, with Netflix, I am also thrilled about my first experience as an executive producer and how with Netflix we can create content that features stories from the Arab world and to be seen by the world.”

A multi-award-winning actress and the first Arab woman to serve as a jury member in the Venice Film Festival (in 2019), Sabry is also a fashion icon and a United Nations goodwill ambassador for the World Food Programme. She worked with Netflix on Because She Watched campaign to curate an inspirational film collection.
