‘Unstoppable:’ Amazon MGM Studios announces free fan screenings ahead of Prime Video premiere
Amazon MGM Studios has announced free screenings of the biographical drama “Unstoppable” on Wednesday, January 8, across the top 85 US markets. These special screenings will give moviegoers an exclusive sneak peek ahead of the official release of “Unstoppable” on Amazon Prime Video on January 16.
Following each screening, attendees can look forward to a special pre-taped Q&A session featuring the movie’s stars, Jennifer Lopez, Jharrel Jerome and Don Cheadle, along with subject and producer Anthony Robles, director William Goldenberg and subject Judy Robles.
Based on the book by Anthony and Austin Murphy, “Unstoppable” tells the inspiring true story of Anthony. Despite being born with one leg, Anthony defied the odds through determination and support from his mother, Judy (portrayed by Lopez), and his coaches, ultimately becoming an NCAA Champion. The screenplay was written by Alex Harris, Eric Champnella and John Hindman. Along with Anthony, the movie is produced by Andrew Fraser, Ben Affleck, David Crockett, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Gary Lewis. Lopez, Jerome, Anthony and Cheadle are supported by Bobby Cannavale and Michael Peña in the cast.
The movie highlights Anthony’s journey from overcoming physical challenges to achieving remarkable success in wrestling. Born on July 15, 1988, Anthony won the NCAA individual wrestling national championship in the 125-pound weight class in 2011, despite being born with only one leg. His story is chronicled in his book, “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion,” published in September 2012. Anthony’s wrestling career is marked by his tenacity and impressive achievements, making his journey a truly compelling tale of resilience and triumph.
