For the first quarter of the year, actor, filmmaker, businessman, former professional bodybuilder and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, former President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris emerged as more popular US politicians than former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden in international online research data and analytics technology group YouGov’s Most Popular Politicians ranking among all adults.

YouGov defines popularity as the % of people with a positive opinion of the individuals being ranked for a particular category (for example, politics).

Winning the top spot was former President Jimmy Carter with 95% fame and 61% popularity.

Fame is defined by YouGov as the % of people who have heard of the individuals being ranked for a particular category.

President Obama held the second spot with 99% fame. He was the only politician among at least 100 most popular US politicians among all adults with this high percent of fame. The former president got 59% popularity.

Schwarzenegger, at the third spot, had 97% fame and 55% popularity.

Senator Bernie Sanders (Fame: 96%, Popularity: 52%), former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (Fame: 98%, Popularity: 47%), Senator Elizabeth Warren (Fame: 87%, Popularity: 47%) and former President Bill Clinton (Fame: 94%, Popularity: 47%) secured the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh place, respectively.

After former President George W. Bush with 98% fame and 47% popularity and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright with 80% fame and 46% popularity at the ninth and 10th spot, respectively, among all adults, President Biden was ranked as the 11th most popular politician with 98% fame and 45% popularity.

President Biden held the position of 35th most popular politician among men, eighth among women, sixth among Millennials, 20th among Generation X and seventh among Baby Boomers.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) with 85% fame and 44% popularity, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (under President Trump) Ben Carson with 82% fame and 44% popularity and former Vice President Al Gore with 90% fame and 43% popularity follow President Biden at 12th, 13th and 14th spot, respectively.

Then, at the 15th spot, we see President Trump with 97% fame and 43% popularity among all adults. The former president was more popular among men – at the 10th spot. Among women, he was the 20th most popular politician. Among Millennials, President Trump was the 30th most popular politician, while among Generation X and Baby Boomers, 17th and 12th, respectively.
