Gaetz nominates Trump for House Speaker; Bannon agrees

Congressman Matthew Louis Gaetz II has nominated former US President Donald John Trump for House Speaker.

Former White House chief strategist Stephen Kevin Bannon has expressed support. Bannon was speaking on his podcast show, the War Room.

Bannon reminded viewers and listeners that he said on the show a year ago that Trump should be the House Speaker at least on an interim basis for at least 100 days.

“Would you not rather have Trump leading the negotiation on the debt ceiling and the spending than some of these people?” asks Bannon. “That’s what it’s going to come down to. We’re hurtling toward a financial and economic crisis just like the 1930s.”

Rep. Gaetz (R-FL) tweeted about him voting Trump for the speaker in the House.

The Gateway Pundit reports that a “RELIABLE SOURCE Says President Trump Would Do It!”

Independent journalist Aaron Rupar tweeted that there were boos in the House when the vote for Trump as the speaker was announced.

Gaetz issued a letter to the Architect of the Capitol on Tuesday night, raising question over Rep. Kevin McCarthy occupying the Office of the House Speaker. “How long will he remain there before he is considered a squatter?” asks Gaetz in the letter. “Please write back promptly as it seems Mr. McCarthy can no longer be considered Speaker-Designate following today’s balloting.”

Following Gaetz and Bannon showing support for Trump as the speaker, the website of the former president’s 2024 campaign announced that the former POTUS will take down the drug cartels when he is the US president again.

Just In: Citizen Free Press tweeted that Gaetz has voted Trump for a second time.

Not only Gaetz, but Bannon is also persistent. PoliticusUSA political analyst Sarah Jones tweeted, quoting an article on her independent digital publishing site which reports GOP House members saying Bannon is lobbying them to vote Trump as the House Speaker.
