Tennessee finalizes 2024 Super Tuesday Ballot

Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett’s office has issued a press release announcing the finalization of the state’s March 5, 2024, Super Tuesday Presidential Preference Primary and County Primary Election ballot.

The withdrawal deadline is noon today.

Fourteen other states and a territory are joining Tennessee this Super Tuesday to help decide the presidential nominee for each party. Besides Tennessee, the 14 states include Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Alaska and Utah. The one US territory that will be joining the 15 states is American Samoa.

The following candidates are on the Republican Primary ballot from Tennessee.

  • Ryan Binkley
  • Chris Christie
  • Ron DeSantis
  • Nikki Haley
  • Asa Hutchinson
  • Vivek Ramaswamy
  • David Stuckenberg
  • Donald J. Trump

The only candidate on the Democratic Primary ballot is President Joe Biden.

President Biden is the only candidate left on the party’s ballot because the other Democratic candidate, Dean Phillips, did not meet the requirements to gain access to the ballot via the process of petition.

After suspending his campaign, Republican candidate Doug Burgum withdrew from the ballot.

Secretary Hargett said on the occasion, “We are expecting strong voter turnout for the presidential election cycle next year. I encourage all Tennesseans who need to register to vote or update their voter registration address do so now by using our convenient online voter registration system at GoVoteTN.gov.”

Democrats will choose 1,420 delegates via these primaries and caucuses, while Republicans will choose 865.
