Apple unveils 1 new accessory, extension of 2 & new models of 4 products

What a day!

Apple has unveiled extension of two existing products, latest models of four other existing products and a brand new accessory.

The two products receiving extension are Apple credit card Apple Card and Apple Podcasts.

Getting more advanced models are iPhone 12 (including iPhone 12 Mini), Apple TV 4K, iPad Pro and iMac.

The brand new accessory is the Apple AirTag.

Apple Card Family

Apple’s credit card now offers support for family with Apple Card Family. Through the family card, two people can share and merge their credit lines while building equal credit together when they co-own an Apple Card. Parents can also share their Apple Card with their children through the family card.

“We designed Apple Card Family because we saw an opportunity to reinvent how spouses, partners, and the people you trust most share credit cards and build credit together,” said Apple Pay vice president Jennifer Bailey. “There’s been a lack of transparency and consumer understanding in the way credit scores are calculated when there are two users of the same credit card, since the primary account holder receives the benefit of building a strong credit history while the other does not.”

Apple Podcasts Subscriptions

There are millions of free shows on Apple Podcasts. The Subscriptions extension offers a place where popular creators can offer premium subscriptions.

Internet Software and Services SVP Eddy Cue said, “Fifteen years ago, Apple took podcasts mainstream, offering creators a premier, open platform to inform, entertain, and inspire hundreds of millions of listeners around the world.”

He added, “Today, Apple Podcasts is the best place for listeners to discover and enjoy millions of great shows, and we are proud to lead the next chapter of podcasting with Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. We’re excited to introduce this powerful new platform to creators around the world, and we can’t wait to hear what they make with it.”

iPhone 12 (including iPhone 12 Mini) in Purple

These iPhone 12s are not only in stunning purple, but they also feature an advanced camera system that offers powerful computational photography features and highest quality video in a smartphone. They keep the Ceramic Shield front cover and expansive edge-to-edge OLED display of the regular iPhone 12 and the Mini. Let us let Apple Worldwide Marketing SVP Greg Joswiak explain.

“The incredible iPhone 12 is the most popular smartphone in the world, and the iPhone 12 family has an over 99 percent customer satisfaction rate. The new purple finish, just in time for spring, adds another bright and fun option to the lineup, and we think customers are going to love it. This gorgeous new color joins the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini family, which is available in five other stunning finishes, and features an advanced dual-camera system, Super Retina XDR display, improved durability, A14 Bionic — the fastest chip ever in a smartphone — great battery life, and the best 5G experience on any smartphone.”

Next-Generation Apple TV 4K

The latest model of Apple TV 4K delivers high frame rate HDR and Dolby Vision video thanks to the A12 Bionic chip. It also comes with an all-new Siri Remote and innovative color balance technology.

New iPad Pro

The 2021 iPad Pro features a stunning 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, the ultra-fast 5G and the breakthrough M1 chip. The new iPad also gets the Thunderbolt support and its TrueDepth camera system has an all-new 12MP Ultra Wide front camera.

Joswiak said, “The revolutionary M1 chip has been a breakthrough for the Mac, and we’re incredibly excited to bring it to iPad Pro. “With M1’s huge jump in performance, a groundbreaking extreme dynamic range experience on the 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, up to 2TB of high-speed storage, Thunderbolt expansion, a four-speaker audio system, pro cameras with LiDAR Scanner, blazing-fast 5G connectivity, an amazing video-calling experience with Center Stage – combined with the advanced features of iPadOS and a powerful pro app ecosystem all in a device users can hold in one hand – there’s nothing else like iPad Pro.”

All-New iMac

The all-new iMac features a much more compact and remarkably thin design, thanks to the M1 chip. This iMac comes in a spectrum of vibrant colors and with an outstanding 4.5K Retina display. Apple says that the camera, mics and speakers of this Mac are the best any Mac had.

“M1 is a gigantic leap forward for the Mac, and today we’re excited to introduce the all-new iMac, the first Mac designed around the breakthrough M1 chip,” said Joswiak. “With its striking design in seven stunning colors, its immersive 4.5K Retina display, the best camera, mics, and speakers ever in a Mac, and Touch ID, combined with the amazing performance of M1 and the power of macOS Big Sur, the new iMac takes everything people love about iMac to an entirely new level.”

Apple AirTag

A small accessory, the AirTag assists in tracking and finding lost items using Apple’s Find My app. It can be attached to backpacks, keys, handbags and other items easily.

Kaiann Drance, the vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing at Apple, stated, “With its design, unparalleled finding experience, and built-in privacy and security features, AirTag will provide customers with another way to leverage the power of the Apple ecosystem and enhance the versatility of iPhone.”
