LiberalFakeNews.com redirecting to CNN website

Domain name LiberalFakeNews.com is redirecting to CNN website, US and Global News has discovered.

When typing (or copying) the domain to the address bar of a web browser and hitting enter (or tapping the forward arrow button on a mobile device), the site that loads is https://edition.cnn.com.

We tried it on two mobile devices (one mobile phone and one tablet), a laptop computer and a desktop computer, with all redirecting the domain to the CNN website. We also used a VPN and got the same result.

According to WHOis.net, the domain LiberalFakeNews.com was registered with domain name registration service Name.com, Inc. Its creation date is mentioned as 2016-12-06T15:45:33, while the registry expiry date is 2020-12-06T15:45:33. The updated date is indicated as 2020-01-04T17:48:31.

The registrar abuse contact email is abuse@name.com and the phone number is 7202492374, according to WHOis.net, which also mentions the domain status as “clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited.”

The domain has privacy enabled, with the registrant information showing on icann.org as “Organization: Domain Protection Services, Inc. and the mailing address as “CO, US.”

US news-based pay TV channel Cable News Network (CNN) is owned by CNN Worldwide, which is a unit of the WarnerMedia News & Sports division of AT&T’s WarnerMedia. US media proprietor Ted Turner founded CNN in 1980 as a 24-hour cable TV news channel, making it the first TV channel to deliver 24-hour news coverage. It was also the first all-news TV channel in the US upon its launch.

CNN has several affiliates, but it primarily broadcasts from 30 Hudson Yards in New York City, and studios in Los Angeles and Washington, DC. The channel’s headquarters at the CNN Center in Atlanta, which suffered major damage during George Floyd protests on May 29, is only used for weekend programming,

CNN programming airs in the US and globally. The US domestic version is also available in Canada, some islands of the Caribbean and Japan. Globally, CNN broadcasts its programming through CNN International, which can be seen by viewers in over 212 countries and territories.
